What is your opinion on this Buena High student jailed on drug charges, family deported but not charged why ?

I’m gonna start another riot asked:

SIERRA VISTA — A Buena High School student is in jail on narcotics charges, and his family has been deported to Mexico, after the student was arrested on campus Monday.

Hector Romero Salazar, 18, is being held without bond at the Cochise County Jail in Bisbee, Cochise County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Carol Capas said.

Sierra Vista police Sgt. Daryl Copp said police responded to the high school, 5225 E. Buena School Blvd., Monday afternoon after school security reported a problem needing police attention.

On Wednesday, police would not say what the situation at the school was, but did say Salazar was arrested on “charges of a possession of narcotic drugs for sale on school grounds” on Monday.

According to records at the county jail, Salazar is charged with possession of a narcotic drug, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a dangerous drug and possession of a narcotic drug with intent to sell.

A U.S. Border Patrol hold is in place pending Salazar’s release from the county jail in order to officially sort out whether or not Salazar is in the country legally, Tucson Sector Border Patrol spokeswoman Dove Haber said.

Salazar’s arrest also led to police requesting a search warrant for his family’s home at 728 Four Winds Circle, which they received.

Salazar’s family has been deported to Mexico following the execution of a search warrant at the residence Tuesday, which turned up forged and illegal I-9 immigration paperwork, said Vincent Picard, a U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement spokesman in Phoenix.

“We did take the members of Mr. Salazar’s family into custody, and they’ve been returned to Mexico,” Picard said.

Sierra Vista police officers conducted the search and seized the fraudulent immigration documents, Picard said.

Sierra Vista police reported that they also found cocaine, packaged for sale and having an estimated street value of $500 to $600, as they searched the home. http://www.svherald.com/articles/2008/01/31/news/doc47a16bec9d63f919507182.txt
Let me get this straight. The kid is arrested for drugs (probable felonies), but the parents are deported and not charged for forged federal documents/ID’s.

Why waste time with charging them and having a trial? When they are convicted they would be deported anyways.

Its obvious they are illegal so just cut out the middle man and save everybodies time and money.

The kid was charged because they don’t know if he is illegal yet. He might be an anchor baby. They can hold him in jail until they figure it out. If he is illegal he will get deported. If he isn’t he will go to jail.

That is the lsw, you can not question the law enacted by the government The law is law and remember tht the said law was passed by brillant people for the welfare of the whole populace in a country. It is not for only few persons but for the good of the whole.

Finally, we’re being saved at least a little money by skipping the trial and just shipping them back. Now, I just hope they send him back too when his time is served.

Correct. There are a huge number of illegal aliens that have to be dealt with. While the .. police… did the kid, the Immigration Service did the parents.

I would also point out that when we finally get the tools of law enforcement in place and playing, we might do more to the Parent.

We need… NEED… a penal work farm. We could seize their possession to pay some of the costs, and put those folks in a jail where they would earn their keep, or enjoy bread and water. Something, I would point out, that the Mexican Government does in its prisons as a matter of course.

If anyone ever gets the chance to ask the canidates how they will stop the incrediable Anchor Baby Swindle, please do it.

Forged federal documents/ID’s is a felony there is no excuse to deport them without first filing federal charges this a serious charge and with it so should the punishment ,they tampered with official federal documents thats against the law

They are going to send them back to Mexico, and you want them to come back for a court date?Do you want to pay to bring them back to court or would you rather have them come back illegally?

they were illegal immigrants. they get deported. there is no charging, just deporting. it would be a waste of money to put them in prison and feed and house them, then pay public prosecutors and defenders and the judge during the trial. they are not american citizens, therefore they do not have the american rights to due process. they don’t belong here, there is proof they don’t belong here, and now they are gone.
