I was wondering if anyone knew if you could get a job as a pharmacy tech or even take the PTCB test with a past drug possession charge (in oregon)?

okay serious question…I am currently attending school and I got a 4000 dollar grant for school I am considering taking criminal justice but I have an upcoming court case for a possession of drug paraphanalia…I took a ride from a friend who had given a friend a ride earlier that day that had been sniffing coke..I have never done drugs in my life not even weed well they pulled us over and found the little baggie the person had been sniffing out of under my seat!!…the bag was about the size of a thumbtack I don’t know if anybody here has seen bags that diamonds go in but if you have you know how small it is but anywayz they slap me with the ticket and now I have to go to court….I need to know if they find me guilty and this goes on my record can I kiss becoming a cop good bye? and will I lose my grant behind this? basically is my life fucked after this
I have never been in trouble with the law the friend I took the ride from hasn’t either he tried to tell them what happened and then he even said it was his and they still gave me the ticket!

I am considering applying for a Diploma in Counselling course and aiming to become a drugs and alcohol counsellor. There’s a bit of a problem in that I have an old criminal record for Assault and possession of drugs.
I wouldn’t imaghine the drugs one would cause me too much problem as I suppose at least I have some knowledge of the circumstances of the people I would be trying to help.
But will the assault one ruin my chances of getting into this career.
It happened when I was 16 and I am now 28 so it was 12 years ago and my record has been clean since.
Really I am looking for answers from people in the UK as this is obviously where I will end up working.
Am I about to waste £2500 on a pointless course?

i find it amazing that some people are so prejudiced. it really is disgusting that no-one can make a mistake in their lives without being subjected to these attitudes. you probably believe public hangings are still right. at least i have my own moral framework. pathetic.

A few weeks ago my sister brought home her new boyfriend for Thanksgiving. For some reason the guy have me a creepy feeling. When I found out she planned to bring him back for Christmas I decided to go online and see if I could find any info about him. Well, I entered his name into http://background-records.net/ and it turns out that he is a criminal!

He has been convicted of sexual assault and felony drug possession. If my dad finds out he will be very angry. I don’t know if my sister knows about this guys past but I do not want him in our home. What is the best way to get her to leave her boyfriend behind when she comes home this weekend? I would appreciate any advice because I don’t know how to handle the situation. Thanks.
