Drug Possession: LIFE After Lockup: Karlton Harris
Karlton Harris grew up in a single parent household on the Southside of Chicago. At the age of ten he was introduced to gang activity. He went to prison for the first time at the age of 18. After serving 9 months in prison, he was released on house arrest and was almost immediatly re-arrested for drug possession and armed violence and was sentenced to 18 years in prison. Harris’s story of transformation is sure to inspire. “People that are in prison spend more time counting the days,” said Harris. “Instead of making the days count.” Harris hopes to form an association of former offenders to inspire others who have been caught up in the criminal justice system.
