Drug Possession: Cocaine, ice and ecstasy supply ring smashed – Sutherland



Drugs, cash, weapons and vehicles have been seized by a special strike force investigating an alleged drug supply and money laundering racket in Sydney’s south. Strike Force Vain was established by Sutherland Local Area Command in November last year to investigate the commercial supply of ice (crystal methylamphetamine), cocaine and ecstasy. Officers from Miranda and Newtown have also been involved in the strike force. It will be alleged that during inquiries into the drug supply, police also uncovered evidence of money laundering involving hundreds of thousands of dollars and the receiving of numerous stolen goods taken in break and enters throughout the local area. The primary arrests of the investigation took place in recent days, with the alleged principal of the syndicate arrested on Sunday and charged with commercial drug supply, drug possession, money laundering and firearms offences. The 33-year-old Cronulla man is currently before the courts. A firearm, more than 000 cash, 380 grams of cocaine, hundreds of ecstasy pills and a 2008 Porsche Cayenne believed to be the proceeds of crime was seized from a Cronulla address and a vehicle following Sunday’s arrest. The drugs have an estimated potential street value of about 0000. Detectives then arrested a 35-year-old Beverley Hills man today at a truck stop on the M5.
