Possession Of Cocaine: Dontae Morris Arrest Video 3



Police shooting suspect, 24-year-old Dontae Morris was arrested Friday night, after a massive manhunt lasting for days. According to police, homicide detectives began negotiations with someone associated with Morris on Thursday. Over the next 30 hours, they continued talking with the unidentified person, eventually leading to Morris turning himself in at an undisclosed location in Tampa. Detectives said the individual will be entitled to the 0000 reward offered for information leading to Morris’ arrest. Morris is charged with the shooting of two Tampa police officers, Jeffrey Kocab and David Curtis, which occurred Tuesday morning. Officials said ballistic tests were used to determine that the same handgun used to kill officers Jeff Kocab and David Curtis was also used to kill Derek Anderson on May 18. More than 200 Tampa police officers worked around the clock for nearly four days to find Morris. In a briefing, Tampa police chief Jane Castor said she has never felt more relieved in her life than when she heard the news that Morris had been arrested. “I can’t tell you how relieved the men and women of the Tampa Police Department are,” Castor said. “It has brought us a sense of closure and it gives a level of relief to this community.” Castor then went on to thank all who participated in the manhunt for Morris including the Tampa Police Department, all other Bay area police departments, and the general public.
