I saw an article about this person named Anneliese Michel, who is claimed to be “demonic possessed”. The “disease” took about 8 years and she died at age 23. This left me with many questions :
1. Is demonic possession real? I think it is, but just wanna make sure.
2. What is the cause of it?
3. Will Christians or Satanist/Luciferians be demonic possessed? (I don’t worship any religion)
4. Can demonic possession be successfully cured by exorcism? (I heard Anneliese died after exorcism)
5. Is there a way to prevent demonic possession?
Any religious people, or people who are experienced about these stuff, please answer my question! Thanks alot!
ps : I have limited knowledge to Religions and Cults, this question maybe a little bit silly. But I really wanna know about this.

Its sad all these catholics blame mental health issues that could otherwise be treated with medication on so called “demonic possession”, people have to wake up and realise mental illness is very real, unlike demons and the Bogey man.
Yes, it is real. There are several cases of demonic possession which Jesus cured.
Anneliese Michel was a mentally ill woman who had the misfortune to be under the care of ignorant, superstitious people who thought she needed exorcism rather than psychiatric care.
Exorcism is effective when the supposedly possessed person believes and is going along with the charade. When he or she is not, exorcism tends to turn fatal as greater and greater efforts are made to force the “demon” out by beating or smothering the victim.
I don’t believe it is real and most probably the person is schizophrenic. The wrong treatment (believing it is demonic possession) instead of medical treatment can lead to death, a lot of the time the priests advise the patient not to take the medication they have been prescribed

Jesus cast out demons and devils and gave us power and authority over them.
2. Satan is the cause of it, stir clear of Him and his deceptions and doings. Trust in God, He protects you and gives you the means to avoid it.
3. It is possible for one to be possessed, However, God will not allow Satan to Harm those who are His.
4. Yes, exorcism is successful for this, but empower and protect yourself in the word of God of truth as it is written.

EDIT For ASKER: Atheist and non believers here are telling you there is no such things as demons, yes there is, some christians gave you truth about this. they cannot give you truth because they don’t know truth, they are without God. You see, it is that same spirit of satan, the demon that is deceiving them into believing that God is not real, and that demons don’t exist, but you can see demonic possession in the eye of the possessed. God gives us a discerning spirit that non believers cannot have and know nothing of.
They thumbs down truthful answers and try to out reason or use logic to convince themselves that it is a lie, not seeing or knowing the demon that has turned them against God. They will be hopeless unless they open their hearts to God and that same demon will consume them.
Demons are real, Satan is real, yet they do not have power over God, this is why Christ gave us the power to cast them out.
You know, You can also pray and ask God for the answers if you do not choose to use His word to look for it, He will show you.
Ignore these atheist, they would see you burn in hell with them and not have a chance. Them not believing does not make it not true.

Yes people have mental illnesses, God knows that, and there are medicines and therapies to help them, this is not demonic possession. Demonic possession is not mental illness, it is a destructive state of being and existing. Medicine and therapy can’t help that, on the power of Father, Son and Holy Spirit can.

1. No it isn’t, but schizophrenia is very real.
2. Malfunctioning brain.
3. You’ll find it is pretty much only Christians who ever report it.
4. It is possible that a person who thought themselves possessed would find their symptoms going away after an exorcism through the placebo effect but there was no demon possessing them in the first place to get rid of (and as others have mentioned, some very real risks of exorcisms).
5. Don’t be a Christian or get schizophrenia (the second one isn’t one you have all that much control over, but staying away from pot might help).
yes.. It can only explain some of the things that i have experenced.. People who compleetly change overnight.. Saying they are religious.. And the same day do very un religious things..Like.. Going to church in morning.. Then to a motel for a lesbian trist.. Starting to sleep around and neglecting family/children.. And still profess to be christian.. Just a couple of personal examples..

Yes demonic possession is real. The famous movie “The Exorcist” was loosely based on a real case. If you read the book “An exorcist tells his story” by Gabriel Amorth (the exorcist of Rome), you will see how mental illness is distinguished from possession, and what typically causes many cases of possession. Generally it goes back to people dabbling in the occult.
Anyone can be possessed, it is not confined to religious people.
Yes, possession can and does get successfully treated by exorcism – although it is not always a completely successful or quick process.
How do you prevent it? Don’t ever get involved in the occult. Keep away from anything that involves the supernatural and is not a part of an established religion.
Keep in mind that demons have the power of angels (they are fallen angels) and that we have no power against them except what God provides us with. The current trend of TV shows that show demons being defeated by humans without help from God, is complete and utter rubbish.
