Question on Drug Trip: LSD?

Question by lclclc: question on drug trip: LSD?
A friend of mine recently took LSD and told me about his experience – I tried to find out more information on the internet on it but wasn’t sure what to research. Can anyone help me to define what happened and whether it has happened before?
After about two hours of being high on acid with his three friends they decided to walk into town. On their way they got confused about where they were going so stopped to work out which direction to take. They then started to have a conversation about the direction to take but because they were tripping quite badly ended up just repeating themselves over and over again but although he realised what was happening, none of the others did and he couldn’t work out how to get them out of ‘the loop’. He claimed it was like someone with a remote kept repeating the same five seconds of conversation. He was unsure how long they did it for – they ‘looped’ several different times on their journey – but worked out each ‘loop’ must have lasted about twenty minutes.
Has anyone heard of anything like this happening before? Any information would be appreciated a lot!

here you go: According to http://www.abovetheinfluence.com/facts/drugs-hallucinogens.aspx it is labeled in the risks “LSD: Feelings of extreme terror / Feeling several different emotions at once / Rapid changes from one emotion to another / Terrifying thoughts like losing control or fear of insanity or death / Feelings of despair / Delusions and visual hallucinations / Tolerance – having to take larger doses to get high which is extremely dangerous / Dilated pupils / Increased body temperature, heart rate, and blood pressure / Profuse sweating / Loss of appetite / Sleeplessness / Dry mouth / Tremors / Flashbacks — sudden repetitions of their LSD experiences — days or months after they stop using the drug.”

Also, LSD can have users have flashbacks even years after they took it.

  • ?????:

yea its normal on acid,it happens ALOT,the loop also comes when u think about who created God,u then ask ur self who created him and then them and so on,also when u think about what molecules are made up of,and what makes that and so on,its not bad in fact in gives u a real good euphoria just wondering about it and on acid ur having too much fun to care about the loop most of the time, but it happens.

The effect is called a “timeless loop,” and seems fairly common.

As ????? pointed out, it isn’t necessarily bad, but it can be bad if it increases anxiety to panic in the user.

LSD (L-lysergic-dilethamine tartrate) acts to neutralize the normal filters that one has. If you listen quietly, you might hear dogs outside, the refrigerator running, or other sounds that you normally do not notice. Filters selectively delete or minimize unimportant data. With LSD, the filters are inactivated so there is an exponential increase in neurotransmission of data. For most this can be fun (if you don’t get arrested) but occasionally people can freak out, and “timeless loops” have been known to do just that. I have heard from others that trying to divert the looper with questions/discussions of reality can be helpful.

If you are with someone who is truly freaking out, and who you think are in real danger, an Emergency Department can use Chlorpromazine (Thorazine) which is an anti-psychotic medication as an antidote.

But depending upon the state that you are in, a blood test might result in arrest for “internal possession.” But arrest for internal possession may be quite a lot better than watching your friend jump off a building.

Another thing that I’ve never trusted about LSD is that commonly additives are used. For example in the 60’s strychnine was added. Though extremely toxic, a very tiny amount was used, and it increased “color” effects. PCP was also used during that time, though more commonly on marijuana which was called “killer weed.” I’ve seen users get very, very aggressive–even stupidly so, on killer weed. PCP (phenclycidine) has a bad rap and from what I’ve seen it’s true.

Keep in mind that possession of less than 100 milligrams in the state of NH on the first offense is “Not more than 20 years, fine of not more than $ 300,000, or both. Second offense is about double that. Since “internal possession” of alcohol (any blood level) in a minor is cause for arrest, it’s probable that “internal possession” of LDS would be also. Your state laws may be different. If you are going to play with substances, make sure you know the laws.

The fact is that the investment banks can ruin the economy (and probably your life for the next 20 years) and get away with their immoral but quasi-legal behavior since they run the government. But if you have 50 milligrams of LSD and get caught, you will likely go to jail. We don’t seem to be able to “fix” anything wrong with our society, but the police aggressively enforce drug laws, many of which don’t make much practical sense. Play with illegal drugs and you become a real target.
