Possession Of Cocaine: BEATEN Frank Nance After Shooting Cop In Face
Frank Emmitt Nance Allegedly Shoots Atlanta Police Officer Reggie Robinson In The Face A recent Atlanta police recruit was shot in the face during a foot chase Friday night and the man accused of shooting him is a 20-year-old with a long history of arrests. Mr. Frank Emmitt Nance was booked into the Fulton County jail overnight on nine charges including aggravated assault against a police officer, terroristic threats, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of cocaine. Mr. Nance, of Atlanta, is charged with shooting Officer Reggie Robinson in the face around 6:30 pm near the intersection of Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard and Lee Street. The 35-year-old officer was dispatched to the 800 block of Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard regarding the possible sale of illegal drugs, police said. Upon arrival Officer Robinson, who graduated from the police academy in November, began investigating and encountered a suspicious male, police spokesman Sgt. Gregory Lyon said. “The male ran from the officer and the officer gave chase on foot,” Sgt. Lyon said. “During the chase the officer was shot one time in the face by the suspect.” Additional officers responded to the area, detained an individual believe to be the suspect and recovered a weapon. Officer Robinson was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital and was in stable condition.
