Drug Possession: Florida Judge Jails Teenager for Swearing at Him in Court
Drug Possession: Florida judge jails teenager for swearing at him in court
A Florida judge sent a teenager to county jail for 30 days after she made an obscene gesture towards him in court. 18-year-old Penelope Soto, who was charged with drug possession, used abusive language and raised her middle finger at Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Jorge Rodriguez-Chomat on Monday (February 4). The judge intially set Soto’s bail release payment at 00, which prompted the teenager to say “Adios”. Seemingly unhappy with her response, the judge called her back to appear before him again and doubled her bail terms to 000. As Soto began to walk away for the second time, she raised her middle finger at the judge. “Come back again. Come back again. Bring her back again,” the judge ordered. “What’s up?” she said. “I believe I heard you saying…” he said. “Yes I did,” she said. “Oh you did say that? I find you in direct criminal contempt. 30 days in the county jail,” he declared. Soto’s reply: “Okay, that’s fine.” Subscribe to LN7! www.youtube.com
