Cocaine is a derivative of the Coca plant. It is the main ingredient, unfortunately dealer cut it with many things to make more money from their investment. Signs and symptoms of occasional use are few and very hard to spot. When addiction occurs complete changes of attitude happen, things that used to be important to you, are no longer of any concern. The only motivator in your life is cocaine. When I first started using, it was just on weekends, then everyday, my family no longer was the center of my life. As the addiction progressed I started stealing from my employer to buy dope, I got to the point where the only reason I went to work was to steal money to buy dope, then I only wanted to steal the money and no work. I lost my job obviously. I was grown when I started using, short term I could not concentrate on anything except getting and using more dope. In the long term I would get the shakes, along with cold sweats. I have not used in 10 years now, I still occasionally dream about using. The doctor did offer me Prozac to treat the side effects, I refused. The only effects that remain are the dreams, they have decreased in frequency and severity as the years have progressed.
