Have you visited the fafsa website? If not, try this link: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/faq003.htm

Scroll to the bottom and there is info there about your situation.

Whether or not you qualify for Financial aid depends on the convistion and how old it is. Also, whether or not a rehab program was completed. You can get finacial aid after 1 year has passed if you r conviction was for posession.

How long since your conviction?
Was it posession, sale, intent to distribute, trafficking?
I think all of this makes a difference.

I got this from the 2nd website listed below.. it’s worth a shot:

Drug Conviction Affecting Eligibility
Federal law now suspends federal student aid eligibility, for any student who has been convicted for the possession or sale of illegal drugs if the offense occurred during a period of enrollment for which the student was receiving federal student aid (grants, loans, and/or work-study). If you have a previous drug conviction and are not sure about how to answer question 31, we encourage you to complete the new 2007-2008 Drug Conviction Worksheet.
The answer from the Drug Conviction Worksheet should be used to answer question 31 on your FAFSA, Renewal FAFSA, or Correction to a processed FAFSA. “

Try your local workforce center and ask about finding out if you qualify for vocational rehabilitation, they can provide resources for training and educational opportunities. If you went through drug rehab as part of your sentence, you should qualify for aid.
