I believe that drug prohibition is a dismal failure and has done nothing but cause crime and create criminals of ordinary citizens. People going to jail for using pot is absolutely ridiculous, especially when jails are already crowded.

Legalizing pot would be a good step, and offering counseling and detox programs to people doing more damaging drugs instead of putting them in jail would be a good one as well.

Neither. They are casual users, they are not addicted nor dealing the drugs out to people.

Question by ?: If a person has been convicted of Disposal of Stolen Goods (no jail time) would they get a US visa?
According to a US immigration lawyer only convictions such as possession and receival of stolen goods will disqualify a person from having a US visa… does anyone have first hand experience here? For example, someone who has been to the US since having such a conviction?
awesome answers guys… the person is acutally going to get a employer sponsered visa. He is going to work in Florida for 4 months for a company there… i believe his visa would be the J visa.. he is Australian, and his conviction was 5 years ago…. that’s all i know…

Sounds like splitting hairs there. Were you convicted of a felony ? If ,so, you are unlikely to be able to travel to the U.S. You can fill out the ESTA form and see…that will tell you right away.    Read more...
