I believe the laws are the same in the whole country, and I think the possession and use is no problem, but it’s illegal to sell it (paradoxical?).

Amsterdam is a city within the Netherlands and not a country and thus not a law unto itself. It is subject to the same laws as the rest of the country (and yes there is life beyond A’dam belive it or not!)
As for the legality issue of cannabis – technically sales of weed are already illegal (always has been), it is merely tolerated to a degree.
“Possession of small quantities and the consumption at home or in so-called coffeeshops (by persons over 18 years of age) are decriminalized and tolerated; only smoking in public is often punished with a fine, or a warning in case of first time offenders.
