Are Methamphetamine Pipes Illegal Absent of Meth?

Question by Bugt: Are methamphetamine pipes illegal absent of meth?
I was wondering if the possession of a meth pipe would be considered as paraphernalia unused. Also I wonder if it would give authorities a reasonable cause to search your car, person etc.? Whats your take?

meth pipe…or oil burner?
it’s a joke…who uses meth pipes as an oil burner? What is an oil burner? It’s true that illegalizing the sale of meth pipes…er….oil burners wouldn’t discontinue the rise of meth, but it’s a joke that the law would allow such sale. Hemp is a viable comodity in clothing…people still use pipes to smoke tabacco…but oil burners?

It would be considered drug paraphenalia, a petty offense.

As for probable cause (nor reasonable cause), it would depend upon the circumstances. PC is in short “reasonable belief that a person has committed a crime” or in this case, evidence of a crime would be in the location searched.

But remember there are countless other ways we can legally “search” your car.

If the pipe is unused then it is not paraphernalia. They cannot tell if you bought it for meth or oil. It does give them reasonable cause to search your person and / or car.
