Drug Possession: Albury police arrest and charge seven people in drug supply investigation
Police have charged seven people following investigations into drug supply in the state’s south. Officers attached to Albury Local Area Command established Strike Force Roder in March 2012 to investigate the illegal supply of drugs in the local area. Further investigations identified links to drug supply in Sydney’s west and officers attached to North West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad established Strike Force Boorea to investigate drug supply in the Richmond area. Earlier today (Wednesday 10 October 2012), Albury detectives, assisted by officers from Cootamundra and Deniliquin Local Area Commands and the Dog Unit, executed six search warrants at properties in Albury. As a result, police seized a quantity of amphetamines and drug-related equipment. Three men and a woman were arrested and taken to Albury Police Station. A 41-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug, ongoing supply, self-administer prohibited drug, sell water pipe and participate in a criminal group/organisation. A 33-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug and ongoing supply. A 27-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug and participate in a criminal group/organisation. A 47-year-old woman was charged with supply prohibited drug, ongoing supply and commercial supply. They have all been refused bail and are due to appear in Albury Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 11 October 2012). Strike force investigators, assisted by Victoria Police, also executed a search …
