Drug Possession: High Speed Pursuit Dash Cam Video Released – Man gets yanked from vehicle upon arrest



Fayette County Sheriff’s office has released dash cam video from a high speed pursuit that occurred Tuesday morning. In the video, deputies and officers from the Washington Court House police department can be seen chasing the vehicle at high rates of speed down SR 38. At one point in the video, an officer can be heard saying “he hit the spikes” after the suspect blew past Hickory Lane on SR 38, where spike strips had been deployed. The suspect’s tires deflated, but he continued at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour for at least another mile. continue reading Deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet vehicle on Interstate 71 shortly before 1:30 am, Tuesday. The driver failed to stop and took deputies on a high speed chase for over 15 miles. According to Fayette County Sheriff Vernon P. Stanforth, Deputy Jeff Holbrook was working traffic enforcement as part of the High Visibility Traffic Enforcement Operation grant (HVEO) on Interstate 71 North near SR 435 NW in Fayette County when he clocked a northbound vehicle traveling in excess of 100 MPH. “Deputy Holbrook pursued the vehicle northbound on Interstate 71 with emergency lights and siren activated, but the driver of the vehicle refused to stop,” said Stanforth.
