Drug Possession: Pattaya’s Beach Road by Night

I walked down Beach road from my Hotel on Soi 10 towards Walking Street. Beach road funnily enough is by the beach!. The beach here is not the best in Thailand and is not so clean. The view out onto Pattaya bay was nice although the Jet Ski’s do tend to spoil it. Pattaya is like someone took all the worst aspects of a European Package Resort and bundled them into one super bad resort. Beach Road tends to come alive after dark and the bars and traders all do brisk business, the beach itself is lit up by powerful floodlights like you’d see in a Soccer stadium and the whole area is heavily policed. Whilst filming this Video I saw two Thai guys getting arrested by the Police for what looked like Drug Possession but I thought it safer not to film. Overall it is safe just watch out for common theft and the ubiquitous lady’s of the night (and Ladyboys!) as the entire city is one massive open air brothel and I was glad to be taking the train up north to Chiang Mai the following day, the two places are worlds apart.
