Should I Prank My Teacher With a Sandwich Bag Full of Oregano?
Question by Swimmer899: Should I prank my teacher with a sandwich bag full of oregano?
They are always searching everyone’s backpack at school whenever something gets lost.
It happens quite often.
I figure that if I start carrying a sandwich bag full of oregano some teacher will find it within the next 2 weeks because we get our backpacks searched quite often.
I know I’ll get in trouble for a while. But they figure out it’s just oregano, And if they call the police, I want to tell the police they were searching my backpack without a warrant, and without my consent.

No, don’t.
There’s always a good chance that something will go wrong, and something will be misunderstood. Whatever momentary humor you get out of the situation will not be worh the risk.

That sounds like a EPIC idea

While I think it would be quite funny, I think you can still get in trouble for it. Selling fake drugs can get you in trouble if I’m not mistaken. Eventhough you’re not selling them, is it worth the risk for a chuckle?
Police can search your bags if they are called in though. They dont need your consent since you’re a minor. Stop being a douche.
No, then you’re going to get searched by the police as well, once they get there, and quite possibly arrested for the prank. Also, teachers do not need consent or a warrant to search your bag.
Only if you want to get in trouble with the law.
If the INTENT was to have people think it was real drugs, then you can get busted for possession of the drugs even when they are not the real thing.
For example…
“There are serious drug penalties for defendants caught with drugs. Even if the drugs turn out to be fake…”
“Massachusetts Possession of Counterfeit Drug Penalties
The defendant can face up to 1 year in the house of corrections or a fine not less than $ 250, or not more than $ 2,500. A conviction of possession of counterfeit drugs will also lead to the defendant’s license to be suspended by the registry.

Even if the drugs are counterfeit, you can still face jail time.”

Joke bag of parsley still gets Port St. Lucie boy arrested

PORT ST. LUCIE — A planned trick on a friend involving a bag of parsley turned into an arrest for a 15-year-old local boy, according to a police report released Monday.
The 15-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy told police Friday morning they were headed to another friend’s home. At the time, they were walking across Crosstown Parkway during school hours.
The elder boy said he was going to play a trick on his friend. He said he had a bag of parsley that he was going to make his friend think was marijuana. The parsley, which he got from his kitchen cabinet, was in a clear plastic bag and appeared similar to pot.
The last time the boy smoked marijuana allegedly was the day before.
The 15-year-old boy was arrested on a charge of possession of a counterfeit controlled substance with the intent to deliver.

My advice to you? Don’t be a dumbass.
They don’t need a warrant or your consent to search your backpack at school.
You will get in trouble, you wouldn’t get in as much trouble if it were weed, but you will get in trouble for acting like it is still.
“… I want to tell the police they were searching my backpack without a warrant, and without my consent.”
And the police will tell you that schools operate ‘in loco parentis’…Latin, in the place of a parent.
So – as a minor in school, they will search you legally.
