Illegal Drug Possession: Has Everyone Possessed an Illegal Drug at Least Once in Their Lifetime?
Question by Real Talk!: Has everyone possessed an illegal drug at least once in their lifetime?
In one of my questions I stated that I was convicted of a minor felony. I’ve received responses that a felony is never minor, and a misdemeanor is. Back to my current question “hasn’t everyone at one point of their life had an illegal drug in their possession”. I believe so whether it was weed or a illegal prescription drug(Vicodine, Ambien, ect.) but just did not get caught with it. Compared to murder, robberys, rape, trying to force a country into democracy,( that for the most part dosn’t want it), stealing elections ect. How is that not a minor crime?

No not everyone. I have done drugs but please stop rationalizing. No, not everyone has done it. If you want to do it, than fine, do it. Just don’t expect to have everyone give their approval of your choices. In the first place, you don’t need people’s approval to do what you want and in the second place you really don’t have any right trying to force your choices on other people. People have a right to their opinion and some of them are going to disapprove of you no matter what choice you make.
Accepting that reality is a part of growing up.

Yeah I have and haven’t been caught but the irony is that what I actually did get a felony for was some one else’s stuff that I didn’t even know was in the car I was driving.
i have never done drugs — im only 15 but i havent
everybody does drugs
i guess alcohol
because i am not 21
Because you and your friends find drugs common place you think EVERYONE does.
You are wrong. We Mercedes/BMW driving, MBA, Country Club members with kids in private school really frown upon the segment of society that think a “little pot never killed anyone”.
We are paying BIG taxes to fund services for people who were busy partying (and can not get a good paying job) while we got a degree.
P.S. Look at your screen name! HEY, you changed your screen name. When you posted this question it was I NEED A JOB or something close to that.
I’ve possessed drugs, but I didn’t get caught. Now I wouldn’ t possess them at all. Thanks for asking!
I have had illegal drugs in my possesion plenty of times and yeah it definetly should be considered a minor crime!
Yes I have.
depends…..
marijuana would be a minor possession
crack-cocaine would not
meth would not
coke would not ( cocaine, not the soda )
oxycontin would not
Sorry dude. Never possessed an illegal drug, nor a legal drug illegally.
hey, those last two you listed…MAJOR crimes!
I plead the 5th to the rest, when you become a parent- you can no longer discus such things
😉
Well it depends what drug it is. A first time offense for possession of marijuana is a misdemeanor. But I see your point…….I am against the war on drugs and I think we are wasting tax dollars throwing people in jail for it when the rapists, molestors, and murders should be there.
No. I have never had nor ever wanted to possess an illegal drug.
It’s not a minor crime because it’s illegal and despite what we all may wish, what’s illegal is so for a “reason” defined by our government. I would say that many people have had something they weren’t supposed to but I would say the majority of people just don’t do illegal things.
the “drug war” is just a way for the government to eliminate competition. (the CIA is, and always has been, one of the biggest cocaine/heroin running operations in the world)
Drugs? I can’t put the answer in writing….
As far as the second part of your question, POLITICS has a lot to do with it.
no, i have never possessed an illegal drug in my life…not EVER!!! and i have never done drugs…not EVER!!!, so in response to your question, not everyone has possessed an illegal drug in their lives.
no never
no i have not ever …and never intend to either … and I’m 36 so cant see me changing my mind
Yes, but I did not get in trouble because I didn’t get caught. I just want to go on record that I am against drugs of all kinds and I also am against the criminalization of drug possession, not that anyone cares. Just wanted to get that off my chest, thank you!
I understand where you are coming from, it seems as though the majority of the population has at least tried drugs (athough not everyone has). But it is important to remember that alot of crimes stem from drug use, people will do things that they wouldnt normally do if they werent on drugs. So minor, I would say that the act of simply possessing drugs, depending on what kind, could be considered minor, but the effects that those drugs may have on a person is what makes it not so minor. A controversial subject for sure.
Sure, one time I had 5 bottles of questionably procured liquid morphine.
yep. that is one of the biggest things I dont agree with when the states are concerned.
I have had weed on me and was parked behind a fair, rolling a joint in my young years.. well, the cops came to both front doors, banged on them as well as flashed lights into the car.
You know what they did? They took the weed, and all the peoples names in the car, gave us a huge lecture and then we found them smoking it later that night in the bushes.
damn cops.
at least we didnt get charged and they didnt find the hash.. heh heh..
WHY WOULD ANYONE WITH ANY SENSE WANT TO HAVE SUCH A HORRIBLE THING IN THEIR HANDS YOU CANNOT COMPARE ONE SIN AGAINST ANOTHER THERE ARE NO GOOD SINS YOU MUST REALLY BE INTO THE DRUG SCENE YOU ARE ALL TURNED AROUND AND MAYBE YOU NEED TO LEAVE THIS GREAT COUNTRY AND GO LIVE WITH THE REST OF THE PAGANS
no
I’m not sure why people are giving immensely broad generalizations like “everyone does drugs”… you’d have to ask every single person on the planet (and force them to answer truthfully) to prove that statement.
No, I’ve never done drugs, or possessed them.
EDIT: Also, just because you didn’t get caught for something doesn’t make it okay. Drug possession is still illegal whether you’re caught or not.
Wow…. very complicated question as we don’t know what illegal drug you possessed.
I have mixed feelings regarding marijuana. Years ago I’ve tried it many times and don’t see the difference between that and alcohol.
Illegal Rx’s – now that’s different. You’re using something that has been prescribed for a particular condition you don’t have but want the side-effects of the drug. On a side-note, I had a friend who has since died, but did go that route to handle the pain – I wasn’t for it but couldn’t imagine living w/pain w/limited meds.
Tricky question, but a good one.
Sorry. I’ve never possessed, used, or purchased illegal drugs. Not even illegitimate prescription drugs.
As for crimes in general, if you get caught, you do the time. If you don’t like the laws, change them.
While I agree in part, and empathize with you,,,to say EVERYONE is convicting or judging about 9 billion people.
I can analogize this very simply. Honesty is a law, not a subjective choice. Illegal is pre defined, no matter how inane, and anything defined as illegal bears consequences. Are some too much? Certainly, but the point is,,, Wrong is Wrong,,,why do we want to grade levels of it, or degrees of wrong,,,especially when we know before the fact?
If you did the crime,,,and the time,,, take a deep breath and move on.
