Drug Possession: Fourth Grader Brings And Shares Cocaine With Elementary School Students
03/18/2011 A fourth grader in Washington DC has been charged with drug possession, for allegedly bringing cocaine to school and sharing it with some other students. Officials with DC Public Schools say four elementary school students either sniffed or swallowed cocaine brought to school by a classmate Thursday. The students involved at Thomson elementary school were taken to a hospital to be checked out, but are fine aside from having sore throats. A fifth student who recently had surgery was also taken to the hospital as a precaution. A letter sent home to parents Thursday from the school’s principal said child protective services and the police are investigating how the student got the cocaine. On Monday, counselors will be at the school to discuss the dangers of drugs and drug awareness with the students.
