The public defender’s office says the images are damning evidence of a handful of officers abusing their badge. Public defenders say what they revealed Wednesday could have far reaching consequences in drug arrests in the city. They say the six officers not only illegally entered people’s homes and arrested them for drug possession, but then lied about it under oath. “As as public defenders every day we have questions about the way in which police officer gain entrance into homes and apartments, here we have proof,” Public Defender Jeff Adachi said. When they do that, it’s because they KNOW what the people are up to, but for one reason or another, can’t get a warrant, or some other technicality prevents them from executing the operation legally.
We’ve gotten away from the SPIRIT of the law, into the LETTER of the law. And look where it’s gotten us.

Awesome, so let’s let more dangerous criminals off the hook because cops did what was necessary to take them off the street for a while. Of course this isn’t an isolated incident, I guarantee you it happens every day. But ask yourself why.
Is it because cops are out to get innocent people and harass law abiding citizens? No. It’s because red tape, special interest groups, and folks who love to cry racism, have made it too difficult to actually get anything done in a 100% legal way.

The escalation of this kind of stuff around the country is intentional to instill tremendous fear in the public.
