It’s a common misconception that it only takes 2 to 3 days get cocaine out of your system. While there may be semblance of truth in there, laboratories do not test for cocaine itself. What they search for is the metabolite, which is produced by the body every time something is ingested. Benzoylecgonine is the metabolite of cocaine—which stays for up to a month or 30 days for frequent users. Cocaine itself can remain in the blood stream for up to 3 days or 72 hours and 2 to 7 days in your urine following a single use. Depending on duration, quantity as well as regularity of use, chronic or habitual use can be identified in your urine for up to 3 months or 12 weeks. Meanwhile, it can also take up to 12 weeks or around 90 days for cocaine to remain in your hair.
