As for the baby being taken away,we live in canada and our stupid government seems to let hookers keep there babies if they are addicted,it is just stupid!This girl is a decent women for the most part,this came as quite a shock.

premature birth, low birth weight, birth defects, and the child can be born addicted to cocaine. she better be careful. some hospitals drug test babies and if the baby come up positive for anything, the state will take it away.

I’ve included a link below for you to look at. It’s a little complicated, but it’s very scientific.

If she is actually addicted to cocaine, it’s important that she find proper medical help so that she doesn’t hurt the baby. Abruptly stopping cocaine use when pregnant can severely harm the baby even more than continuing to use it if she is addicted. She needs to get help ASAP.

    this woman is 31, and you are trying to get info for her? Has she asked you for help? Where are you getting this info from–it seems like you must know her–why don’t you talk to her yourself and get her to a doctor (maybe yours) with you? You seem to be taking quite an interest it this–make sure you are not doing this for the gossip factor;

    Using during pregnancy, especially the first 3 months when all the major organs are forming can cause developmental problems from learning disabilities, emotional difficulties, physical disabilities
    Miscarriage and stillbirth can also happen. Babies of mothers who use cocaine can be born addicted and have to go through the physical effects of withdrawl. The pain of this can cause emotional issues for the child.
    Also, using cocaine near term can trigger sudden, severe uterine contractions that can cause the placental to tear away from the uterine wall leading to the baby dying from excessive blood loss.
    Even babies who are born seemingly normal can exhibit any number of psychological scars years later.
