Like Doug Van state it began in the 1920’s and became
a real problem when Coco-Cola started putting it into
their soft drinks, hence it’s nickname Coke,

The 60’s we dealt with marijuana and hashish but the usual
suspects (heroine, cocaine, LSD) were there as well.

At least I think that is correct, all that coke, pot and LSD
has messed up my mind (just kidding)

Cocaine has been a major problem since forever. Dope is nothing new in this country. People used opium for every little thing as well.
