What makes cocaine such a bad drug to the government, is it because you can make a lot of money out of it ?

Cocaine is a far stronger and more dangerous drug than weed. Hell, alcohol is a more dangerous drug than weed.
Cocaine is a completely different type of drug from cannabis, in that it is addictive, while cannabis is not. It can also cause significant damage to the body.
I agree, it’s more dangerous than weed and more expensive too. Plus, only specific demographic groups tend to use cocaine, making “target” these groups and thus a danger to them specifically. To contrast, weed is easier to get and a wider variety of people have used it. Decades ago when cocaine and crack first came on the market, it absolutely wreaked havoc–and on a large scale. That’s when and why the government decided to act with exorbitantly long jail times, to get cocaine dealers off the streets.
