I don’t think that doctors prescribe it for patients as a general rule. However, they sometimes use it in treating patients. I had to have some treatments done in the office by an ENT many years ago. He sprayed a solution containing cocaine up my nose. This was supposed to help with pain. The cocaine solution was nasty. The treatment was painful. The cocaine solution didn’t seem to help with pain at all. I hated the cocaine. I have hated every narcotic a doctor has prescribed for me after surgery. They are supposed to help relieve pain. They make me feel worse than having nothing at all. Some are just worse than others. Some people like this addictive garbage. I hate it.
