I live in Illinois. Around St. Louis area. I’m a bricklayer. A co-worker was busted for drugs in the early 80’s and was denied his FOID last year. I don’t think there is an appeal.

Answer by real_sweetheart_76
I was convicted of a class 4 drug posession charge back in 2004. I’m also in Illinois. There is no way he can get a F.O.I.D. card. Unfortunately one bad mistake we have made in our past will affect our future permanently. I went to a seminar on how to have our felonies sealed or expunged.
I was told by the lawyer who did the seminar that there is no way a drug posession can be expunged. It is possible to get it sealed but not an easy process, but regardless if it’s sealed or not he unfortunately will never be able to get that F.O.I.D card.
