I Got Convicted of a Misdemeanor, Is My Dream of Becoming a CPA Gone?

Question by Stephen Riach: I got convicted of a misdemeanor, is my dream of becoming a CPA gone?
A really stupid thing happened. Basically, a “friend” sold me a camera, and a few days later, the police were at my door. Questions were asked, and it came down to “Did you think the camera was stolen?” And my reply was, “Well, I thought it might be, but I wasn’t certain.” They wrote this down on a piece of paper and had me sign it. Apparently, I was signing my own confession. I was convicted of “possession of stolen property.” I really wanted to become a Certified Public Accountant. Would anybody still give me a job with this conviction? I’m so bummed.

I don’t think you’ll have an issue. I think the licensing board only looks at higher grade offenses… not what you confessed to.

Is This Considered Drug Dealing or Not So? What Would Be the Penalty?

Question by William Lambert: is this considered drug dealing or not so? what would be the penalty?
a pothead who smoke weed everyday gets the weed from his friends or someone he knows like either by buying it from them or just getting it from them

Answer by scott b
Yes. If they are selling you drugs, they are “drug dealing”

Answer by Jeff Alcott
Technically, it would be “Possession with intent to distribute.” The wording on the title of the crime, as well in the paragraphs in the criminal code, is worded so that monetary gain is not needed.

Basically, if you have weed, and you plan on it leaving you and going to someone else, whether they pay or not, is Possession with intent to distribute.

Each state has different laws. So unless you can tell how much weed, and what state….cant help ya with a penalty.

BREAKING NEWS: Shane Warne in Trouble for DRUGS (AGAIN)!!!?

Question by kaal: BREAKING NEWS: Shane Warne in trouble for DRUGS (AGAIN)!!!?
Former australian cricketer Shane Warne is in trouble again. Warne was arrested at 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday morning for suspicion of driving under the influence and possession of cocaine after police stopped him outside Sugar Daddy’s, a Scottsdale, AZ nightclub. Believe it or not, Sugar Daddy’s is NOT a strip club.
Reports indicate Warne, driving alone, backed his BMW out of the club’s parking lot without noting oncoming traffic and nearly hit a parked sheriff’s car. One of three officers working on a special holiday DUI task force pulled him over and, as he approached the vehicle, “observed a white powder substance on the center console of the vehicle. Warne was wiping the dash off as I approached”. Warne voluntarily submitted to a field sobriety test … which he failed. Officers then discovered “two bags of a white powder substance … in his back left pocket. In addition, a bag was located on the driver seat in a Marlboro cigarettes pack”.
