i was pulled over with 4 minors in my car and i just turned 18 and got arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphinelia. im waiting to see when i go to court and dont wanna serve any time. its my first offence since ive turned 18 too. they were all minors but didnt charge me with contributing to minors. ive finaly got my life together and dont wanna spend any time in jail, do you really think they’ll give me jail time for 2 misdemeanors?

no, as long as you pay the fine. you’ll probably be on probation

I hope so but above all else, you were lucky they didn’t charge you with contributing. If you “get off” with probation and/or community service, consider yourself lucky and take it to heart like you say you have. Good luck.

actually you can go to jail if you have them with intention to sell or if you have a large amount. Just if you have it don’t sell it or keep it in little tiny bags because if you have it in a little tiny bag and get caught the police will charge you with possession with intent to sell
If you were arrested by federal officers you’re screwed, enjoy prison.
If it’s municipal officers, you’ll likely receive a fine and probation, perhaps community service and a mandatory drug counseling thing. It’s possible you’ll have some jail time but I doubt it. Be very forthright with the court and you’ll be alright. Best of luck.
It will depend on how much drugs you had (less than or greater than an OZ).
If you have less than an ounce and its your first offense (since you’ve been 18). You may get diversion which means you may be forced to complete a drug education program after which the drug and paraphernalia charge may be reduced to different code section (such as a health and safety code section instead of a penal code section).
Keep your nose clean after that. This is a priorable offense.
